BFF is a very short abbreviation for a very long meaning. It takes years to find a best friend, and even longer to grow that 'one of a kind' connection. Once it is made, you could never regret it. A best friend is something we all hope of having one day if you don't already. It can be beautiful and wonderful at the same time as challenging and troublesome. Just like any other relationship it's not a walk in the park. it takes dedication and commitment to make it perfect, and every now and then you still may run into a bump in the road you need to work on. In the end it will be worth everything you put into it.

It takes less effort to be mean than nice. It takes less effort to be a bystander then be a contributor. It takes less effort to frown than smile. so what not go through life being a frowning, mean, bystander? because just because something is easier, doesn't mean its better. If you simply but a little more effort into all your actions in life, the outcome may be something much more enjoyable. Its sort of similar to talking to your family about what birthday present you want. If you man up and tell them exactly what would make you happy, you will be happy. If you say the easiest answer "i don't know", you'll end up with a bunch of socks and a gift card.

girls have a reputation of being two faced bitches, and a lot of the time that reputation isn't too far from the truth. we are a gender of gossiping, lying, backstabbing, and self-centered people. granted, there are a few good girlies out there, but who stops to notice them when you can have a genuine Barbie doll with attitude. These girls aren't dumb though, they are smart. they know how to manipulate the people around them so that they can rule the hallways they walk through. there is no need to be nice to others when you have a band of loyal followers to serve you grapes from a silver platter... and a line of replacements at the door just incase one of them screws up. Whats beautiful about these girls is that once they step outside their classrooms into the real world their power suddenly is equal to the dust in the wind.

I wish the idea of marriage had remained the same over the years. I miss the times where your grandparents got married once, and they remained together until they needed hearing aids and had to live on creamed peas. Something in that just seems so beautiful to me. When i get married, i want to be married forever. I want to spend my life with one person "until death do us part". One wedding, one dress, one groom, one set of vows for life. I hope my marriage will be beautiful, with no worries of economics, divorce, or people standing in the way. When a ring is put on my finger it will remain there forever... and to be sure of that i will find the right man. He won't be perfect, but he will be right for me. If it takes a little longer than most, oh well. It will come eventually.

A lot of people in the world don't care what happens as long as its not affecting them. They know they economy is in a recession, but as long as they have their jobs everything is fine and dandy. There are homeless people living on the dirty streets of the city, but as long as they have a comfortable bed to sleep in people can't seem to find the spare change in the pockets. It really easy to turn your back on something when it isn't affecting you personally. When you actually take time to look, it may change your life. You may find yourself appreciating what you have and the people who you have with you. You don't need to change every aspect of your life, just open your mind behind your own doors.

Everyone needs to let out their feelings every once and a while or they might explode. Exploding is not an overstatement either. If you keep your emotions bottled up inside its the equivalent to mental suicide. The person who saves you from this is a blessing. Its the person who can sit with you listening to your problems, holding your hand while you cry. This person is your go to girl. When the world has ate your happiness for breakfast, and is coming back for dinner... she (or he) is there. Its truly incredible when you find this person. The person who will keep your secrets safe and tell you that you look pretty when your face is swollen and red from crying. Just remember, when the time comes return the favor.

Its so easy to look at the past and think about what might have or could have been, but its pointless. All you have is the present and if you waste it looking at the past... then you have made a mess of your preset as well. Whats done is done and all you can do is move on from there. It may take a while to move far enough from a situation where you can't feel its presents anymore, but you will. When you were little and broke your mother's favorite vase or glass... you wish you hadn't thrown that ball and were punished for a week, but how many times do you think about that day now? never. What seems so big and important at the time can disappear as quickly as the wind.

With every good thing in life there is something evil trying to steal its perfection. A simple thought can be turned into a nightmare, even by one's own mind. There is a disease in the world where we feel that things can't remain pure. We always think "something has to go wrong" or "there has to be a catch". With these thoughts people destroy their happiness and leave themselves with the ruins to deal with. For some reason, this is easier to deal with. For the lucky people who don't feel this way, there are other people to force their evil upon them. Its difficult to see other people happier than they are, so they level the playing ground until all thats left is a battlefield.

In all honesty, one of my favorite things to do is to just sit and think. For so simple of an action it can do wonders for the soul. It can clear your head and allow you time to sort through all the elements of your life. Sometimes i just lie for hours in the summer sun and retrace a certain day or moment. everything looks different when your looking back on it. You come to realize that the moments where you can recall every moment, smell, feeling, thought... are the most important. I was told once by someone close to me that "where you mind wanders, is where your heart is" and i believe that is true. Your heart can belong to many things, but they're always in the back of your mind ready to be called upon when the time comes. In the future take a moment to sit and engulf yourself in your own thoughts.

As kids we often feel like we have no say in the world, and are constantly being dragged behind by the hand of our elders, but the truth is that we command a world of our own. They can have the world of corporate business and stress. We have the world of the young and i would prefer this life any day. We can sleep late and stay up even later, living in the spur of the moment. We can love as many times as we stumble upon it, without the commitment of rings and children. We can learn for the hell of learning even though we all know that its a rare occasion. We can wear tight dresses and our clothes around our ankles and laugh to ourselves as our parents groan. We can wear to much makeup on a friday night simply for a girls night out at. Applebee's. We should enjoy these privileges while we can. Live life and the youth of the world, get a piercing while you can, and take it out when the time comes, or travel to europe for a month or two (with the excuse of studying abroad of course.) You're only young once... make it count.

You can't escape life's choices. you can sit on the sidelines and brag about how you weren't involved in a bad decision, but you are lying. You were involved. you consciously decided not to take a part in that decision. If you actually took part maybe you could have been the person to save that decision for being labeled a 'bad' one and turn it into one that can be seen as 'good'. If may seem easier at the time but a life on the side lines grows slow, lonely, and dull. You should take chances and reap the benefits that they bring you.It could be so simple as deciding where to go for dinner instead for saying 'whatever you want' or going to the pools and voting for the next president. In every sense on the meaning, its worth the risk.

If you don't want a honest answer, a person shouldn't ask a honest question. If a person asked me what my favorite color was, i wouldn't lie and say blue because its maroon. What good would telling you my favorite color is blue be? no good at all. You then would receive blue presents with a card attached written in blue pen and covered in blue stickers. By this point you're wishing you said purple. I hold the same thought process with people. I a person asked me my opinion of them i would give them an honest answer. If i didn't like someone and lied and said i did, that would lead to a clingy girl i couldn't stand declaring that i'm her new BFF and we would forever be connected by our sisterly love. Sounds like torture. The truth may be hard at times but it is always the correct choice. The high road is for the brave and the truthful while the low road is for the cowardly and their so called "white lies".

Looks are deceiving. When you see the girls with the bleach blonde hair, the DD boobs, the perfect friends, and have Ken as their extremely handsome boyfriend... take a closer look. maybe she has to spend hours burning her scalp with bleach in order to maintain her golden locks. maybe her DD boobs are fake and actually hard as rocks. maybe her perfect friends are backstabbing bitches and she has no idea. and maybe Ken is a cheating bastard that she loves too much to let go. Every person has a background story that you should try to understand before you pass judgement. It may be exactly what you though, or it may surprise you. who knows.

No matter how bad people make you feel, how how much trouble something brought you... don't apologize for something you're not sorry for. hold your head up high and take pride in what you did. Something that makes you happy will always be worth the risk of people and their jealousy. At some point everything will blow over and you will be standing strong among all of their wreckage. Its better to have your own approval than the approval of others. Go to sleep at night knowing that you did whatever made you smile, and you will sleep easy. Shed a tear not for yourselves but for the people who are too busy ridiculing you to make themselves happy.

We have a tendency to lie to ourselves. every time we do something wrong we try and make ourselves feel better by saying its experience. Its something we can learn from, something that will light the way to a future or happiness. Face it, sometimes a mistake is a mistake. sometimes people screw up and there is no lesson to be learned. You need to take a step back, observe the shipwreck you just caused, and realize there is no bringing the titanic up from the bottom of the ocean. Sure, you can say "well, next time we wont take the life boats off the ship" or "well, next time we won't hit an ice burg" but when are you ever going to be sailing a ship through ice burg infested waters? Never. Just walk away with your head hung in shame and hope your good points have made up for the bad ones.

When you are young you are dumb. no matter how high your IQ is or, or how many hours you studies for text, youth is being ignorant. You have no idea of what the future has in store for you. You have never felt heartbreak or loss, wealth or poverty, love or hate. These things are only uncovered to you over time. You live and you learn and you become wiser. At some point we must ditch the 'i know it all' mind set and accept that we all have things to learn. You gather knowledge for the people around you and the experiences that you are thrown into.

Music is extremely personal. You may be listening to the same song as the person next to you, but the stories and lessons they find in them may be extremely different. Some people enjoy sappy love songs that talk about true love and heartbreak, while some people enjoy a fast paced rap where the majority of the words need to bleeped out on the radio... and thats okay! when it comes to music it is truly 'whatever floats your boat'. When you slip in your headphones and press play on your ipod you enter a world that is strictly your own. The music you listen to has the power to calm you, excite you, make you cry, or even lighten your spirits... even if the person next to you is complaining that their ears are bleeding.

Face it. We will all die eventually, so why not make life worth dying for? You are constantly moving forward in time, and leaving all the minuets and seconds behind. You should make all those minuets and seconds add up to a greater picture. This picture will be you in old age, looking back at your life... and being happy with it. Live all your moments with that future in the back of your mind. Think "will this make me pleased with my life? or "will i be proud of myself when i'm older?". With this in mind, go forth and have fun. Make mistakes and laugh about them when you tell your friends and family. If you are enjoying your life, you will be happy in youth and old age.

It may take you a moment to realize, or it may take you a decade, but the moment you do nothing will ever be the same. There are some people in your life that stand for the sole purpose of infecting your happiness with negative entities. They may pretend to be god, or think what they are doing is for the best but all the while they are poison in your blood. When the time come that you realize this you must cut off all ties. You bust end the relationship cold turkey and move on with your life. Soon your head will clear and you will be able to smile without a lie behind it, or love without a guarded heart.

Society has a way of tricking people into thinking they are less than they are. Seeing magazines and movies cause you to second guess who they are and who is accepted by the people around them. In relationships, a lot of the time people run into the problem when they feel the need to change to keep a relationship alive. If you were yourself in the beginning of he relationship you should be yourself to see it end (either in a breakup or death). If your man like blondes and you have brown hair, don't jump on the idea of bleaching your hair to please him. That won't win his heart, it will win a temporary spot in bed. A man would much rather you embrace the look and personality you have, because thats who he's dating... not a mail order girlfriend.

Fairy tales aren't just for children, they're for anyone with hope. Hope that someday there will be prince charming for you, and someday you will like happily ever after. Sure, your happily ever after may be spend in the suburbs chasing after your kids, and sure your prince charming may be a glorified accountant... but who's judging? As long as your happy they might as well write a fairy tale book after you. Adults read them to children to show then to keep their chin up. None of them were a smooth road for any of the characters, but they still turned out okay in the end. Everyone knows cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Aurora, and Jasmine as beautiful, caring, strong, loving, (and a little lucky) women and thats the characteristics every little girl should grow up thinking they are.

being alone and being left alone are two different things. Being alone is sad. Alone is a place where your thoughts can creep around you, stealing your mind to feed to the happy people. Being left alone is happy. Its when people stop nagging, ranting, and making fun of you. Its when people finally accept that you have feeling rather than think your a piece of meat to be grilled. Being left alone is like being free. Imagine your an ant. People feel the need to squish aunt because they're little and weak. People think its funny to put a magnifying glass so they can watch it burn. The ant can't fight back, can't say anything to make you stop, and can't even run for his life. Leave it alone. You really shouldn't get so much pleasure out of its pain anyways. Leave it alone and leave it to be happy.

It's true that you should be your main priority should be yourself, but the second shouldn't be your shoes or clothing or hair... it should be other people. Life is too short to live solely for yourself. The world is soooo big, and you are just one tiny spec in it. Would you like to remain a spec, or would you like to grow? in order to grow you much touch other people. Touch their hearts in a way that will make you memorable to them, and in return they will make you grow. Just simple actions such as holding a door, picking up something when it falls, or even a complement (everyone loves a good complement every now and then) can make a difference. A life lived for other people is a life well lived.

Love is about the only game that two people can play, and both players become winners. Love isn't a competition (even though some people can look at it as one). There needs to be an equal amount of give and take, with both parties experiencing both sides of it. If there ever is a winner in a relationship, it isn't one based on 100% love. It may seem like that at first but over time the truth will reveal itself. One person will begin to resent the other... and with that brick loose the wall will crumble. In a true game of love, the game will never end. It will continue on forever with no wins or losses, just an even tie throughout.

I feel like the worst lie you could ever possibly say is "I Love You" if you don't mean it. With those three simple words, life branches... and if they are said with falsehood, the life they branch is evil and demeaning. Love isn't something you mess around with. You can have lust, casual relations, or even friends with benefits, but saying I Love You can send it in an undesired direction. People use the phrase to get out of an uncomfortable situation or even simple because they feel it needs to be reciprocated if it is said to them first... but its a lie that keeps people up awake at night dreaming about what your children will look like and when they'll meet your parents. i love you is something that will change a person's life forever and its best not to mess with it.

Every person in the world see the world in a different light, and perceives the world to be a different place. The beauty about meeting new people is that they can expose you to exactly what they see. It can open your eyes to things to new ideas, hopes, dreams, and opportunities. You may even discover something about yourself that you never knew before. Different people bring out different aspects of yourself. With one friend you may be more prone to being reserved and self reflective, while with another you may be outgoing and flamboyant. Thats what friends are for. the allow you to be yourself when you are not alone. It sounds simple but it takes time and effort to master.

You go through life with no concern, until something concerns you. You don't have worries about money until you lose your job, you don't have health worries until you are diagnosed with a disease, and you don't have friend worries until one leaves. It sound cliche but the truth is, you never know what you have until its gone when you're talking about a friend. Everyone has experienced the depression of a friend moving or drifting away. Its never easy and makes you appreciate all the time you spent together (even if you're angry). But every experience is a lesson learned, correct? The next time you find a friend that you can call 'close you your heart' you will hold them there.

Even though fairy tales tell people that a dream come true is the ideal future, it isn't completely true. sometimes people's dreams are corrupt and cause more harm that good, even if they have the best intentions. what may be ideal for one person, may be someone's hell. Be careful the next time you wish on a shooting star, at 11:11, a four leaf clover, or even the candles on your birthday... you may end up with a 'not so happily ever after'.

Especially those moments when there is something on your face or something caught in your teeth. A friend will sit politely not saying anything while you make a fool out of yourself telling jokes with a giant booger hanging out of your face. A real friend will slip you a tissue and let you continue on with the punch lines. The 'friend' isn't necessarily bad, she/he is for the most part just being polite, doesn't want to hurt your feelings, or too shy to say anything about it. The 'true friend' on the other hand has your back through think and thin, even when the situation gets messy... like the tomato sauce smeared on your face.

He or she is the person you choose to spend your time with even though you have no true obligations with... but you do it anyways. Having a best friend is a wonderful thing.

Would you ever walk away from someone knowing you wouldn't survive in their memories? Its hard to think about being forgotten, especially when you cared about the person you expect to remember. You want people think think of you when your gone, and you want those thoughts to be positive. (Although, if they're bad... at least your being thought of.) As you age, you naturally forget some people... the girl who sat next to you in Biology, the uninspiring teacher from 7th grade math, or even the friend who secretly had a crush on your big brother. These people will come and go, and you will forget... but a few people will stay strong in your memery. You have to make yourself one of hose people who remain in memory instead of fading away with the time. You can do this through skill, kindness, honestly, bravery... simply being a great person. Those are the people you remember, because its the kind of person we all want to be.

They show you a world where true love conquers all and where the character's life is never dull or uneventful. These stories are often your hopes and dreams put into writing. You engulf your mind in the realities of fictional characters as you constantly hope and pray that some part of their lives will magically become your own. When you close the cover all the sudden your world has a slightly more gray and oblique feeling, even though it didn't seem that way before. So what do you do? You read some more. And when you finish it? You read it again. Over and over. Hoping at some point your life could be as beautiful as the story, accompanied by perfectly chosen vocabulary and page corners so you can save your favorite moments. Life seems better from these pages, its not so big, not so complicated, and so much more enjoyable.

Nothing is perfect, no matter how bad you want it to be so. Plans fall apart, people make mistakes, objects break... nothing can or ever will be absolutely perfect. When you start expecting everything to be, your world turns into complete chaos (which is exactly the opposite of your goal). Maybe thats the problem with today's society. People dream too much, and want their lives to be what they see in a magazine or movie. What magazines or movies don't let us know are all the imperfections they featured people face. When we can't seem to achieve that perfect house or body, we feel like failures. What people need to understand is that imperfections make life worth while because it makes life unexpected and enjoyable.

you're only young once, you might as well do it right. don't live life afraid of being put in time out or holding your nose when you jump in a pool. if you're going to have fun with your teenage years, make them the most amazing years you could ever possibly imagine. there is no point in living living on a tightrope if the fall could be the most endearing part of the whole experience. when you know there is a net ready to catch you, go ahead and jump feet first into the unknown. you could find the view to be far better than you expected.

every girl wants a guy who is her best friend... but what if her best friend is really her soulmate? we always have our friends, and our friends always have us while men come and go out of our lives. maybe instead of holding your man on a pedestal, it should be your girlfriends. they are unbelievable people who can make you laugh, tell you the truth, are reliable, and already have been through think and thin with you. Try is, make a list of your perfect boyfriend. your list will probably include honestly, good sense of humor, kind, fun, etc. go ahead and make a list to describe your girlfriend. notice any similarities. Guys do hold an important point in our lives, and you can't live without them... but could you live without your girlfriends either? nope, not me.

You cam make the decision to change yourself, but no person has the right to change another person. When the idea that someone should be different pops into your mind, your automatically judging that person against someone else and standards that may not apply to them. Just like your fingerprint, every person's personality if different and just because it may not comply to your particular taste doesn't mean that change is necessary. Change is like shaving a person's head. It change what they look like on the outside, but no matter how the short you cut their hair, they will always be the same on the inside. It mainly damages a person's self esteem to suggest change along with inhibiting anything the would have freely contributed to the world. Take some time to accept rather then alter, and if you dislike someone enough to need them to change, why bother?

Although it may sound cliche, we are truly our worst enemies. Most of life is a mind game and the person to control it is no one but yourself. You make the choice of being a pessimist or and optimist, and with that decision you see the world in different ways. It could be a lovely place filled with hope and dream fulfillment, or it could be a shit hole filled with nothing but disappointment. It's all about your view, really. The next time you set your mind to something, make sure there are good thoughts to go with it. No matter how hard it is to do, when you take the time to think positively, life will take the time to give positive results.

Todays world is a very selfish place. Although it may seem harmless, we always feel that our own happiness are greater then the ones of our neighbors. Sometimes the best way to make yourself happy is to see someone else happy, even if it has no personal benefits. Its easy to say but really hard to do. In todays world its very easy to put on blinders and forget the world around you, especially when you don't want to to see it. but when you take them off and see someone else being happier, it hits you where it hurts. Everyone wants to be happiest, have the most fun, have the most friends, or even have the most money. When you don't win jealousy does. The world would a better place if jealousy wasn't the green giant lurking behind every corner, because he gets the best of us.

No matter what the situation is, no matter how big or small, consequential or inconsequential, you can't help but be changed by it. Every second of the day you become a different person. A memory may be forgotten or made in less then a moment, and that moment is the beginning of a new you... which ends in a millisecond. Every experience in your life alters the outcome of who you will be. It makes you stronger and changes the views you hold of the world. When something dramatic happens, you aren't affected in the time immediately followed, but carry the baggage until kingdom comes. How you choose to deal with the experience and change afterward is of you own decision but its something you have to accomplish.

Memories are always kinder than reality. They serve to remind you of better times when the moments you're living don't seem to par up to the past. There are times when all you want to do it close your eyes re-play certain days or times as if they were a movie. But when you open your eyes, nothing is the same. The truth is that people move on, while memories remain. Memories serve to haunt you until you are strong enough to not need them anymore. All in all, memories are kind, when people are not. They show you the best of what you had, and tend to hide the worst. Someday people will find a way to resist that walk on memory lane, but until then we will take our sweet time taking that stroll.

Everyone has his or her pity stories. Stories specifically designed to make your lives sound just as miserable and pathetic as the person next to you. At the completion of the tales of woe, the usually reaction is "awe, i'm so sorry" or "how did you ever survive?" while you add a sniffle or sob to add to the drama factor. Try this for a change. Instead of matching the pain, try and remove it... not only from their lives, but yours as well. A listening ear goes a long way, and words of wisdom go farther. Put someone else's needs in front of your own, and help ease someone else's heartache instead of basking in the glory of yours. You may just learn to appreciate the true value of your experiences, and perhaps... when the time comes... someone will help you ease your heartache too.

The Little Engine That Could has been on the right track for years. He made his way up mountains and across miles of land saying "I think I can, I think I can". Low and behold... he could! If he had switched his chant a little and said "I think I can't, I think I can't" he most likely wouldn't have been so successful. Success is for the majority all a mental game. You set yourself up to win or lose primarily by your mind set. Granted, just thinking positive thoughts don't guarantee you a winning lotto ticket or an A on your report card, but think about this... could it hurt? The answer is no. When in doubt believe in yourself, because if you don't you may be cheating yourself out of happiness.

There is nothing more beautiful than seeing your dreams come true... and knowing that you were the person to make it happen. Sometimes fate has a way of making everything okay, but sometimes a person's own free will can have the same effect.
